Volunteers are crucial to the success of this event! There are several ways you can help:
Main Entrance Greeter: Greet attendees and use clicker to count people. May need to assist with Pet Check.
Pet Check: Like a coat check, but for dogs. Attendees are not allowed to bring in their pets. If they do, they MUST check them in. You would have them fill out information form and place the pet in a kennel, just inside the doors. Make sure all is well with the pets in the kennels. Return pets to owners.
Rescue/Vendor Concierge: Provide assistance to rescue/vendors. Answer questions from attendees, notify staff of any issues, watch booths if needed, monitor cleanliness and alert if assistance is needed. May include some lifting.
Cat Room Concierge: Same as above, but designated to the cat room.
Water Wagon: Fill water container outside of building, and using wagon, distribute to booths as needed.
Check Out: Assist new adopters through checkout process by collecting paperwork and handing out gift bags.
Play Yard Assistant: Monitor outdoor play yards, notify staff of any issues and provide assistance as needed. Please note—this is outdoors.
Survey Takers: Catch people as they’re leaving and ask if they would please fill out a quick, one-page survey.
There is a morning shift (8:30 to 12:30) and afternoon shift (12:30 to 4:30). Afternoon shift volunteers are asked to help with tear down and clean up.
